Welcome to the Bridgewater Township Recreation
Wrestling Team's Web Site.  Our program brings together Kindergarten
through 8th grade boys from the Bridgewater and Raritan communities
for an instructional and competitive program where basic wrestling
skills are taught and practiced in a supervised setting under the
guidance of experienced coaches.   Our goal is to help boys develop
confidence, self-reliance, discipline, and respect, while stressing
the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork.  Many of our
former participants now wrestle on the Bridgewater-Raritan High
School Wrestling Team and have found our program to be an invaluable
experience to ensuring success on the high school level. Wrestlers
join our program to have fun.  Our coaching staff recognizes this
and often incorporates "games with a purpose" into each practice so
that time spent is adequately balanced between work and play.  New
friendships are formed and are continued on throughout their
wrestling years both on and off the mat. 1st through 8th
Grade participants in our program may compete on one of three
different levels of competition -- (1) the highly competitive Grade
School League for 7th & 8th grade wrestlers, (2) the Central Jersey
Youth Wrestling League for our more experienced wrestlers in grades
1-6, and (3) the Central Jersey Youth JV Wrestling League for our developing wrestlers.  Our in-season program
runs from November to March.  Practices are conducted at
Bridgewater-Raritan High School, with two to three practices per
			week.
